Have you been thinking about upskilling? Ready to learn a new skill? Well, there's no time like the present! . 

There are many reasons why upskilling should be on your to-do list this year.

Think better job prospects, keeping up with technological advances, even the challenge of learning something new.

One thing we can thank the Covid-19 lockdowns for is a huge leap in the availability of online learning. Webinars and upskilling sessions have become cheaper, more available to the public – and, if you know where to look, sometimes even free!  

To help you on your upskilling journey, we've compiled a list of fantastic, free courses, covering a whole range of topics and skill areas. Have a look through, get booked on and see where your new skills take you!

1. Udemy  

This site is an online-based learning platform, for both students and professionals. They have more than 100,000 online courses available to access on either your laptop or mobile phone.

2. Coursera 

Coursera is another great online platform that has courses from a wide range of subjects. Collaborating with 200+ leading universities and companies, it is guaranteed to have something on there to upskill.

3. IBM Design Thinking 

This online platform focuses more on team-building skills, and problem-solving. They have recently made all of their online courses free, in hope, it will help as many people as possible. All you have to do is create an account.

4. HubSpot Academy  

This site is great if you are looking to Upskill in things such as social media, SEO, advertising – this list goes on! If you are looking for a course in anything sales or digital marketing, this site is definitely for you.

5. LinkedIn Learning 

This site is similar to HubSpot academy with lots of social media-based courses, but it also offers support on everything excel, writing emails people want to read, and lots more skills that definitely come in handy in the world of work!

6. Tik Tok Influencer Marketing Class 

We all know Tik Tok took the world by storm in 2020 and is a key platform to promote yourself, or your business. This course helps you build your personal brand on Tik Tok, and you can start it today, here.  

 

7. Pluralsight

This site is great if you are looking to build on your tech skills. You do have to pay to access the courses, but there's a free 10 day trial available, so it's worth giving it a try!

8. Open Learn

From the Open University, Open Learn covers all manner of subjects in a range of courses from short videos to longer, more in-depth courses. You'll usually receive a 'Statement of Participation' when you complete the course, which is useful for future employment!
