#1 – All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey

Released in 1994, this pop hit has dominated the Christmas charts for over 20 years. It is sure to be played several times on your Work Christmas night out, and it’s all you’ll hear on the radio in your car!

#2 – Last Christmas – Wham!

This is definitely one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time! Released in 1984, brought to us by George Michael and rest of Wham! Although it’s never made it to the #1 spot in the UK charts, it was #2 after Band Aid in 1984, and #2 again in 2017.

It’s definitely a Christmas favourite to sing your heart out to!

# 3 – Fairy tale of New York – The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl

This is definitely one of the most played Christmas songs to date, and a great one to dance to. This hit came about when Shane MacGowans producer, Elvis Costello said the band would never produce a Christmas hit, how wrong he was!

# 4 – Step into Christmas – Elton John

Step into Christmas makes you do just that! It’s the perfect song to get you ready for the festivities. This song has actually gotten more popular over the decades, when it was released in 1973 it reached #4, but almost made it to the top 10, at #11 in 2017.

#5 - Driving Home for Christmas – Chris Rea

This is a great song to listen to when you’ve finished work for Christmas, and you’re on the way home, literally, driving home for Christmas. We love this song because of how wholesome it is!

#6 – Mary’s Boy Child – Oh my Lord – Boney M

You’ll definitely be hearing lots of this classic when you’re out and about this Christmas time. This hit was Christmas #1 back in 1978. It’s definitely a great song to sing along to!

#7 – Do they know it’s Christmas? - Band Aid

This is the song that was in the way of Last Christmas getting the #1 spot back in 1984. The charity supergroup saw big names such as George Michael and Sting.

#8 -   The Christmas Song – Nat King Cole

This song makes us want to sit in front of a fire with some mulled wine! It’s definitely an oldie but goodie! This song has been recorded by lots of artists including Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder!

#9 – I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – Wizzard

Well, we opened with a line from this song, we couldn’t leave it out! The classic it’s Christmaaaas is something that always comes to mind when we think of Christmas music.

This song has charted every year since it released, but it is a bit like marmite – you either love or hate it!

#10 - Merry Christmas Everyone – Shakin’ Stevens

Now this song will put almost everyone in the mood for Christmas! Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas everyone is definitely one of our faves!

Fun fact, this song was due to be released in 1984, but Stevens knew he had hot competition with Band Aid and Wham! So, he released it in 1985 and got the #1!

Well played, we think.
