You have two options to advertise your jobs.

Shifts or Job Adverts.

So what's the difference, and which one do you need? Read on, and we'll explain!

Looking for a simple way to find and manage temporary staff?

redwigwam provides small to medium businesses with the platform to manage and pay their staff, plus attract and access a large, nationwide pool of flexible workers.

First up, a job advert

A job advert is used to attract new workers to your business. You'll provide details of what the job will involve and the type of person, plus any experience, you are looking for. Workers will apply for the job and then you can review them and book them onto shifts.

A job advert can be completely stand alone. You may be looking to add prospective workers to your worker pool ready for a busy period in the coming weeks and months. Your need may be more urgent, but you don’t have all the details yet.

This is fine. Create a job advert and we will share this with our large, nationwide workforce. They will apply if they are interested, and you’ll receive a text alert when this happens.

You then log in and review the applications. You’ll see a summary of why they think they’d be perfect for the role and the days and times they are available to work.

If they look good, click ‘I like this person’ to add them to your worker pool. If they’re not for you, that’s fine too – simply click not suitable.

You can add up to 5 workers to your worker on a free account, with paid subscriptions available if you need more people.

Your free job ad will run until either you have received 10 unreviewed applications, or you choose to close it.

And now, shifts

Creating a shift means you have specific dates and times you need a worker to work.

Shifts can be attached to a job description (if you want to attract new workers to apply) or standalone (if you are comfortable in filling them with workers from your existing worker pool.

You can have multiple shifts (with different dates, start/end times, and duration) attached to the same job.

If you're new to redwigwam and don’t yet have a worker pool, then we would advise you create a job ad which will be used to attract redwigwam workers to your role.

A job ad can be stand-alone – you don’t have to have a shift attached to it. Many hirers choose to use a job ad to build up their worker pool, so they are ready when they have specific shifts in mind.

And remember, a job ad is free to post and will run for as long as you need (or until you have 10 unreviewed applicants).
