Well, what can we say, what a year 2021 was!

No doubt it had its challenges as we are all well aware.

However, despite these challenges, there were also plenty of highlights, so we thought we’d take a look back on our favourite moments from the last year.

January 2021, we launched our brand-new website, a brilliant site where our workers can go to log in to their profiles, see the latest jobs, read our blogs to keep up with the latest news from redwigwam HQ, plus much more.

Looking for a new job this year?

Whether you're looking for extra staff, or extra cash, we've got you covered in 2022.

Awards

This was another great year for us on the awards front!

We attended some fabulous awards nights; our CEO and founder Lorna Davidson was nominated for several awards for entrepreneurship and our redwigwam was also nominated and won some others.

Lorna was a nominee for Outstanding Contributor to the North, she was also shortlisted for the LDC Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and she was the regional winner of Barclays Entrepreneur Awards 2021.

redwigwam was the winner of the Liverpool Chamber Award, in the skills and employability category for innovation in business.

Lorna was also named by Computer Weekly as one of the Most Influential Women in Tech UK, 2021.

We look forward to winning more awards in 2022!

Jobs and Community

The summer saw us taking on plenty of festival work. Our wigwammers went to work on the bars, then got to experience the festival afterwards and watch some of the acts. These shifts were extremely popular and went down a storm.

Throughout the course of the year, we've added hundreds of new hirers and thousands of workers to our redwigwam community. We now have over 170,000 workers signed up to our platform and this number is increasing daily. We find jobs for many, many people in all manner of industries. As well as having our usual staple jobs in warehouse, cleaning and hospitality wigwammers have also tried their hand at working in a biscuit factory, receptionist roles, car valeting, to name just a few of our wide variety of roles

In addition to this, wigwammers completing mystery shopping roles have had the opportunity to review some fantastic products including bottles of spirits, food products and even flowers from a well-known online flower company. And who could forget THAT cake job where we all got free brownies!

For obvious reasons the redwigwam team couldn’t be all together at the office in person in 2021, and thanks to the continued success and growth of our business there were lots of new people who hadn’t met each other yet. The office team has grown from 15 to almost 50 people!

This problem was solved when we had our late summer social, (which actually turned out to be in October), where everyone could finally meet for the first time. We had a fantastic day out at Boom Battle Bar in Liverpool, where we threw axes and played darts, pool, and beer pong!

Tech

We continued our mission to update and improve our tech, with the launch of Redalerts, which offers both hirers and workers a quick and easy way to make product fixes in stores to correct supply and demand issues. This is hugely helpful for our hirers as it prevents loss of revenue and for our workers it means money can be earned quickly and easily as there will usually be multiple calls, they can complete in close proximity to each other. To go alongside this, we also launched a new and improved reporting site to make completing reports much easier.

We will be continuing in our mission to update our tech into 2022 and shortly we will be releasing a new job site which will mean workers will find it a lot more straightforward to find the jobs they want to do with much better filtering features.

We rounded up the year with a Christmas party at Anfield, where we had a lovely meal and danced the night away.

Overall, we’re very proud of what we have achieved in 2021, especially since we have increased our revenue by 100%, which means we’re doing a great job in making a positive impact in the world of flexible working.

We’re helping more people than ever achieve a great work-life balance by working with us and helping more hirers to be more flexible in their businesses.

We're proud to be changing work for good.

We have a lot of big plans for 2022, including expanding into the care sector, and we can’t wait to see this all come into fruition!
